Our history
It was in the 1960s that Guy Ligier, a high-level sportsman, French motorcycle champion and Formula 1 driver, began producing his own sports car, intended for both the track and the road. A human and technological adventure which will lead the team to build more than 20 Formula 1 single-seaters.
In the 80s, from prestigious automobiles to competition, Guy Ligier diversified his activity towards the production of tractor cabins, before converting to the license-free car, with his first LIGIER JS 4.Les camionnettes électriques sont adaptées au transport de matériel aussi bien sur sites professionnels ou touristiques fermés, qu’en zone urbaine.
Birth of Ligier Group Ligier Group was born from the merger, in 2008, of two major players in the European market for light and heavy quadricycles: Ligier Automobiles and Microcar. Drawing on LIGIER's high-level sporting experience and Microcar's 30 years of technological experience, the group works on a daily basis to respond to specific, evolving and innovative demand.
